The needles are then activated through gentle and specific movements of the practitioner's hand or with electrical stimulation. Acupuncture is used to decrease pain and increase the body's ability to return to a state of homeostasis and healing.

Auriculotherapy (AT), is a diagnostic and treatment system based on normalizing the body's dysfunction through stimulation of points on the ear. The ear is a micro system of the entire body, therefore the whole body can be treated through the ear. Your acupuncturist may choose to combine AT with your regular acupuncture treatment or she may decide to treat only with auriculotherapy. AT is very effective for pain management, addiction issues, sleep disorders and many other conditions. Your acupuncturist may choose to send you home with either ear seeds or tacks to further your treatment.
